Summer Research Internships

Summer is a great time to get experience with field research. This experience can be tailored to your needs and interests. Students can opt to get academic credit for their participation. Several projects are underway that you can get involved in. Alternatively, you can design your own research in plant ecology with Dr. Mooney’s guidance.

For students interested in a paid internship, you can apply with Dr. Mooney for the Undergraduate Research Academy. This provides a paid stipend as well as workshops throughout the summer. Applications are due in mid-March. Contact Dr. Mooney for more details. Successful grantees present their work at Mountain Lion Research Day in December or the Colorado Springs Undergraduate Research Forum in April.
